Univ of Michigan To Stop Using "Healthy" Dogs For Medical Training Course

On first read, it seems a great thing that University of Michigan "that it would end a controversial practice of using healthy dogs from animal shelters in teaching surgeons trauma lifesaving skills." (From The Detroit Free Press.) However, that the word "healthy" was included in the announcement, leaves me to suspect it ain't over; they didn't say that they would just stop using dogs -- period.

Read the article U-M to end use of healthy dogs from shelters in surgeon training course.

Still, it would be a start.

  1. Mmmm - sounds suspicious to me too. But as you say, it's a start at least.
