Sally Jenkins & The Gall of It All (Vick)

Yowza.

Washington Post sports columnist Sally Jenkins hits the nail on the head with today's column, appropriately titled The Gall of It All. To read the article, click on this link.

A couple of sentences from that story: "In the meantime, Vick's lawyer wants us to remember, "Michael is a father, he's a son, he's a human being -- people oftentimes forget that." Pardon, but if anybody forgot his humanity, it was Vick. Not us."

Suffice to say, Ms. Jenkins appears to recognize, and validate, a full spectrum of reasons why people are angry about dogfighting (for which Michael Vick, already a recognized 'celeb', made himself a national poster boy) and at Mr. Vick in particular. These reasons include everything from 'simple' animal abuse to a blatant disregard for life, from deceit to misrepresentation, from squandered talent and opportunity to busted dreams for ourselves and our children.
Is it right that we are angry for all these reasons, and more? Yes. And thank you Ms. Jenkins for articulating that.
