San Francisco Oil Spill & Bird Rescue

To stay updated about avian rescue and rehab due to the recent San Francisco Bay oil spill, please check out the International Bird Rescue blog.

As of today, they list the following on their blog:
545 live birds
126 washed of oil
369 dead

Also, they are in need of drivers to transport birds, and donations of items such as towels.

To report sightings of oiled birds, call these numbers:
In San Francisco: 311. Outside SF: (415) 701-2311

Or, file your report online, by clicking on this link.

This is also a great site to find out how birds are endangered in oil spills, how they are cleaned and rehabbed.
