Return of the Cicadas!

ahhhh....Synchronicity. Yes, it's that time of the 17th year!

The Periodical Cicada is scheduled to return to parts of the Midwest, including Michigan, within the next several days. Many consider the Cicadas to be nothing more than noisy pests. However, I believe they are a wonderful enigma, and sound kinda cool (albeit loud). Though cicadas develop in the ground in a "nymph" stage, they emerge above ground for several days every 17 years to mate, talk a lot, and to offer dogs, birds, squirrels and some people, a tasty and rare treat. yum!
